Jr. High Youth

Junior High rocks at Cross of Life!
Junior High student activities include Sunday School, Confirmation Classes, Summer Camp at Lutherdale Bible Camp, our celebrated East Coast Road Trip, and many other fun fellowship and servanthood events.

Confirmation Classes
Detailed information on Confirmation Class expectations can be found under the "Confirmation" section of this website. Confirmation Classes are held on Wednesdays (September-May), generally from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Students are confirmed in September (typically as 9th graders).

East Coast Road Trip (ECRT)
The ECRT is a highlight for our eighth-graders' passage through Confirmation! It takes our youth along the East Coast ... of Wisconsin, that is! Our kids and adult chaperones explore tent-camping in state parks, biking through Peninsula State Park, and spelunking, among other activities.

We encourage our students and their parents to join us for this once-in-a-lifetime experience - one they'll always remember.

Fellowship Events
Fellowship events that have been held in the past include Lock-Ins and First Fridays.

  • The 7th & 8th Grade Lock-In is held in spring. The kids (and adult chaperones!) stay at church from Friday at 7:00 p.m. to Saturday at 7:00 a.m. They play games, do crafts, eat snacks, watch a movie (or two), sleep, and have breakfast together.
  • First Fridays are held on (you guessed it!) the first Friday of the month from October to May. Past events have included bowling, laser tag, tobboganing at Lutherdale Camp, and servanthood events (with dinner, of course!).

Servanthood Events
The Confirmation students are expected to perform servanthood activities as an on-going service. These service activities may include sorting medications for Bread of Healing Free Clinic, serving at our monthly Agape meal, assisting with the spring and fall clean-ups here at church, and "ringing the bell" for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive. These activities foster compassion and an important sense of community in our young people.
