The Finance Ministry works with financial issues of Cross of Life. The group meets monthly and reviews the proper month's budget and variances. Insurance policies, investments and disbursements are discussed, and suggestions are submitted to the Church Council.
The goal of the Adult Programs is to care for the physical and spiritual well-being of Cross of Life members. There are about 15 small groups that members can participate in.
The Invite Ministry (or New Member Ministry) provides programs to work with the community to introduce and welcome people to Cross of Life. There is a series of three classes that potential new members attend, each focusing on different aspects of Lutheranism, Cross of Life, etc.
The Property Ministry Committee addresses issues of the building and surrounding property. Included are building repairs and maintenance, gardening, and landscape management.
The Servant Ministries Committee supports programs in the local, extended, and world communities to provide assistance with time, talents and financial funding. Local programs that Cross of Life supports include the Waukesha Food Pantry, the Waukesha Women's Center, the Waukesha Clothes Closet/Career Closet, and Springdale House. The Group Opportunities (GO) Committee oversees specific events which engage the whole congregation, such as Advent Fest, Summer Picnic, Sunday morning coffee hours/receptions and a variety of other annual or occasional events, such as movie nights). It also coordinates the smaller gatherings aimed at a portion of our church family, such as potlucks after Saturday evening services.
The Stewardship Ministry coordinates stewardship of the members of Cross of Life as they contribute their time, talents, and financial offerings.
The Worship and Music Ministry provides elements to enhance the worship services for the congregation. The committee is involved with the musical selections (choirs, soloists, or special musical selections), decorations, and seasonal and special events.
The Education Ministry provides many opportunities for you and your family to participate in the learning events offered at Cross of Life. There is Sunday School provided for children preschool age through Grade 8. High schoolers are invited to sit in and participate in our Sunday morning discussions. And, each Sunday, adults have two opportunities to choose from: an adult Bible Study and an Adult Forum, which features a wide variety of topics.
The Youth Ministry is a group of parents and involved adults who plan and coordinate activities for Junior High and Senior High youth. Past activities have included a day at Noah's Ark Water Park in the Dells, skiing or tubing at Granite Peak, summer youth servant trips, scavenger hunts, and movie nights.
The Communication & Technology Team works to coordinate all public communication and to enhance all of our ministries through the use of technology. Communicating is essential to proclaiming the Good News. Technology is a huge asset in helping us connect with people personally and thoroughly in a timely fashion. Anyone with an interest in writing, photography, video, databases, social networking, or computer technology is needed to make this group as alive as possible.
