About Serving

"Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received. Whoever speaks must do so as one speaking the very words of God; whoever serves must do so with the strength that God supplies, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ." ~ 1 Peter 4:10-11

Servant Minstry begins within the conscience of a congregation and then moves beyond the church walls to a neighborhood, communuity, and world in need of service.

The Servant Ministry Committee at Cross of Life believes that we are called by God to serve others and to use our gifts faithfully in service of God. The committee's philosophy encompasses four key components:

  1. Connecting our members' benevolence dollars with our members time and talents.
  2. Leading by serving - in other words, living out the Gospel.
  3. Acting with the knowledge that a congregation learns and grows through serving.
  4. Thankfully receiving what our partners share with us. The servants often become the served and we rejoice in both giving and receiving among our partners.
