We meet the first & third Mondays from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in Room 206.
We are a group that meets to craft heart-shaped pillows for patients at Froedtert Hospital who have undergone breast cancer surgery. They rely on us to make approx. 400 pillows each year, so helping hands are always welcome to join us! The pillows are also available at the narthex door for COL members to provide to a loved one who would benefit from a pillow. If you can't attend our meetings, we also have sewing projects that can be done at home! Come and see for yourself what FUN we have while serving others! New sewers and non-sewers are welcome.
In 2014 alone, Sew Comfy created 497 pillows for patients at Froedtert Hospital who have undergone breast cancer surgery! Thank you, ladies, for doing God's work!
Please join us for our next "Gathering!"
When: September 19 ~ 6:30-8:00 pm
Where: COL Room 206 (upstairs; Art Room)
Join us for our Fall and Winter gatherings:
October 3 & 17 / November 7 & 21 / December 5 & 19
This past year, Sew Comfy made and donated 497 heart-shaped pillows for patients who have undergone breast cancer surgery. They are asking for your help in purchasing bright, cheerful 100% cotton fabric to make more pillows this year. 3 1/2 yards of fabric will make 10 pillows; 1 1/8 yards of fabrics will make 3 pillows. We also accept donations of kid-friendly or holiday fabric for pillowcases and soft stuffing for pillows. It would help if you washed the fabric before placing it in the basket by the narthex front doors but it’s not necessary. Thank you for your support!
Group Contacts are Tami Miller (414-581-6214) and Julie Cozad (262-796-1789).

April 2014: Sew Comfy Receives Thank You Letter from the Heart
Sherri G. is a breast cancer survivor from Round Lake, Ill. She received a pillow sewn by our Sew Comfy ministry after her mastectomy in March. She felt drawn to write a note thanking Cross of Life-ers for their ministry to her during her journey with cancer. Our Sew Comfy Group (see photo above) meets twice a month to craft heart-shaped pillows for patients at Froedtert Hospital who have undergone breast cancer surgery. They make nearly 400 pillows each year. Below is Sherri’s letter:
Dear Sewing Sisters,
I want to thank you for my sew comfy pillows. And for your love and prayers. God has done great things through my time with breast cancer, and through your gift. Bless the work of your hands. Your Sister in Christ ~ Sherrie
