Current Servant Opportunities

If you've ever asked yourself, "How can I serve?" this is your page!

There are many opportunities to serve at Cross of Life, within our community, or abroad!

For instance, if you're an adult and want to be more involved with our youth, you can l
ead a Senior High Cafe discussion on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. or be an adult leader on Youth Board. Simply contact Josh Young, Youth Ministry Director.

Want to work more in the community? Check out the list below to "find your fit" or contact Susie Hilgart for the latest opportunities.

Interested in helping during Worship Services? We can always use more Worship Assistants, Acolytes, Sound and Video Techs and Communion Assistants, to name just a few. Whatever your talents, we will always find ways to use them! Please contact Debbie Riederer, Administrative Assistant, and she will gladly get you plugged into a time slot ... and into our community of helpers!

Students: Don't forget ... you can serve too! Attend a Senior High Cafe discussion (Sundays at 9:30 a.m.), serve on our Youth Board, or help with our technology at church. You also play an important role at our Servanthood Events held throughout the year!

To find out how you can make a difference, contact Josh Young, Youth Ministry Director, or one of our Pastors: John Horner-Ibler or Sherrie Lorbeck. You'll be glad you did!

Servanthood Sunday a Huge Success on February 26!
Thanks to everyone who participated in COL's Annual Servanthood Sunday held on February 26, 2012! It was a day spent serving the needs of others in the community and right here in our own church building. We completed a variety of projects at our partner locations:

 Springdale House
Florist Avenue Lutheran Church
Bread of Healing Clinic
 Genesis House

Servant opportunites at COL included:

 COL building projects
 Sew Comfy sewing projects
 Quilting projects
 Bread of Healing pill sorting
 Luther Manor activities

Members also donated cookies for the Luther Manor daily coffee cart, which is alway appreciated!

It's not too early to mark your calendars for NEXT YEAR'S Servanthood Sunday! It will tentatively be held the last Sunday in February, and our schedule for the day will look like this:

12:00 p.m.: Sending Service at COL
12:15 p.m.: Car pool to our partner sites or begin projects at COL
4:30-5:00 p.m.: Meet back at COL for a chil supper after we're done working.

"We are blessed to be a blessing." Thank you for being a blessing to so many!

The Food Pantry of Waukesha County is Looking for Adult Volunteers on Fridays from 12:45 - 3:15 p.m.
The Food Pantry could use four people willing to help serve clients with their food choices. The commitment can be once a month, a couple of times a month, or every Friday. The Food Pantry is always flexible and very grateful for whatever time a volunteer can give. If this opportunity would work into your schedule, please contact Susie Hilgart or Jeanne Bonk.

Volunteers are Needed at the Bread of Healing Satellite Clinic at Florist Avenue Lutheran Church
Kathy Nevermann, RN and Clinic Coordinator, needs additional nurses and in-take personnel for the Wednesday evening clinic. She could also use a volunteer willing to greet patients once a month. The volunteers rotate which Wednesdays they help, so you would not be committing to every Wednesday. You would arrive at the clinic around 5:00 pm and wrap up around 8:00 pm. If you are able to help, please contact Kathy.
