JULIE GRASSEL WINS "CAREGIVER OF YEAR AWARD!"Our warmest congratulations to COL Member Julie Grassel, who was recently named Caregiver of the Year by the Alzheimer’s Association of Southeastern Wisconsin! Held on November 19, the chapter’s 32nd Annual Meeting was themed “We Are Stronger Together” and was a tribute to everyone involved in bringing successful outcomes to their mission. The evening also acknowledge several individuals for their service and contributions, including Julie Grassel as Caregiver of the Year. In accepting her award, Julie gave an incredible speech. It spoke to the "love story" she and her husband Mike share and lifted up all who have touched their lives throughout this journey. You can read Julie's speech by clicking HERE.
Cross of Life is an active participant in supporting the Alzheimer's Association, whether by participating in fundraising walks, holding forums so that Julie, Mike and others can share their stories, and supporting the Grassel Family in any way we can.
Julie Grassel has this to say: “We can't thank our church family enough for all of the support with all of Mike's driving needs. With the support of Cross of Life members on our Lotsa Helping Hands Driving Website, we have received more than 60 rides per month, and there are more than 80 driving volunteers for Mike! Many of those volunteers are from COL.”

QUESTIONS about Servanthood Sundays? Contact Muriel Otto at firstname.lastname@example.org or 262-785-9420.
If you've ever asked yourself, "How can I serve?" we can answer your question!
There are many opportunities to serve at Cross of Life, within our community, or abroad!
For instance, if you're an adult and want to be more involved with our youth, you can lead a Senior High Cafe discussion on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. or be an adult leader on Youth Board. Simply contact Matt Griepentrog, Youth Ministry Director.
Want to work more in the community? Watch our Bulletins and Newsletters to "find your fit" within the latest opportunities, or contact Muriel Otto, Director of Adult Ministries.
Interested in helping during Worship Services? We can always use more Worship Assistants and Coordinators, Sound and Video Techs, and Communion Assistants, to name just a few. Whatever your talents, we always find ways to use them! Please contact Debbie Riederer and she will gladly get you plugged into a time slot ... and into our community of helpers!
Students: Don't forget ... you can serve too! Attend a Senior High Cafe discussion (Sundays at 9:30 a.m.), serve on our Youth Board, or help with our technology at church. You also play an important role at our Servanthood Events held throughout the year!
To find out how you can make a difference, contact Matt Griepentrog, Youth Ministry Director, or one of our Pastors: John Horner-Ibler or Sherrie Lorbeck. You'll be glad you did!
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." ~ Margaret Meade
